Must be the warm weather

On Feburary 6, there was a big rumble on West Street adjacent to the low-income apartment complex between Garfield and Emmett. It involved about 75 high schoolers and multiple fights. PD responded.

The next day, a small group of about 15 students gathered about 3:15 in that same location and engaged in insults and posturing, but dispersed before numbers or activity escalated to warrant a PD response.

Today, around 3:30 pm, about 60 students gathered in that same location after school, and again PD responded.

This is not the first time we’ve had this problem in the neighborhood. They’ve gathered like this on Calhoun Street (between North and Harvard) on College Street (right in front of my house) and on North Avenue (between Calhoun and Garfield).  Things have just been quiet the last couple of years.
